There are three things you absolutely must have to build a website:
1) A domain name: (yoursite.com or yoursite.net, etc.)
A domain name makes up the address of your site and can end in .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, .biz, .tv and more. Throughout this site you will also see the domain name referred to as the "dot com name".
2) A professional looking self-created website:
You must have a document containing PUBLISHED or INDEX FILE.
3) A web host:
This can be created as follows:- Go to MY COMPUTER.
- Open MY NETWORK PLACES.
- Select CHOOSE ADD A NETWORK PLACE.
- You will find a wizard on screen on it CLICK NEXT.
- Select CHOOSE ANOTHER NETWORK LOCATION.
- Under INTERNET OR NETWORK ADDRESS type ftp://ftp.(your domain).
- Uncheck the box and write your website USERNAME.
- Now TYPE A NAME FOR THIS NETWORK PLACE. You can write any name you like.
- You are done so click FINISH.
- You will find a folder with your domain name in your NETWORK PLACES.
- Simply paste your own web developed file or index file in this folder.
- Open up your website...you are DONE.
- If you want to make some changes or add something in your website, edit your web-developed file and again paste its PUBLISHED FILE or also known as INDEX FILE in your Domain file.
